Do you love animals? You may be perfect for our current pet sitter / dog walker job openings. We are looking for several animal lovers that want to help pet owners by providing the highest level of care for their pets when they can’t do it themselves.

This is a part-time job and hours could range from 15-25 hours per week depending on the needs of the business.

We are primarily looking for individual’s available weekdays (with some weekend availability preferred) to work in Johnson County, Kansasbetween the hours of 6am-9am, 1030am-3pm, 4pm-9pm and 10pm - 6am.

·       AM Walkers: Must be available mornings 6am-9pm.

·       Mid Day Walkers: Must be available mid-days 1030am-3pm.

·       PM Walker: Must be available 4pm-9pm

·       Overnight Pet Sitters: Must be available 10pm-6am

You should have experience working with animals and knowledgeable about the general needs of dogs, cats, and small animals. You will be responsible for offering general care for a range of animals in the client’s home, along with walking and cleaning up after dogs of every breed and size. You should love the outdoors, enjoy playing with pets who are energetic and be comfortable driving between services.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Clean up after, brush, exercise, provide care for cats, dogs and small animals, litter box and cage cleaning.

Take high quality pictures of pets at all visits and send a report card to clients via our mobile app at the end of each visit.

 Observe outdoor and indoor play to ensure safety of the pet.

 Feed and provide water based upon client instructions, which may be very detailed and must be followed exactly as given.

 Administer medication to pets according to client instructions.

 Meet with potential clients to secure business in person and at events, advertise services provided and explain the details of how pet sitting works.

 Report any injuries or illnesses to manager as soon as possible, along with completing an injury/illness form to turn in as soon as manager is on-site.

 Respect clients’ homes, privacy and personal property when on-site offering pet sitting services, includes cleaning up any pet messes.

 Provide additional customer service as requested by clients, which may include picking up mail, watering plants and opening and closing blinds or curtains.

 Check and follow schedule provided by the main office and report any conflicts or issues to manager as soon as possible. Trained staff members have flexibility and are allowed to route their services during each day within set timeframes restrictions.

 For overnight pet sitters (great for those with full time jobs elsewhere): provide overnight stays in the client’s home, generally from 10pm – 6am. Most of your time will be spent cuddling with pets and sleeping.

 Travel to client’s home and provide a 30–60-minute dog walk.

Generally, 1 or 2 dogs, and many of them are very energetic, hence the need for a daily dog walker. The majority of these dog walks occur between 10AM - 2PM Monday - Friday.

 

JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

 Required:

·       Must be reliable our clients depend on our care

·       Must love animals.

·       Be at least 18 years old.

·       Have a reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license.

·       Must have excellent communication and customer service skills.

·       Pass extensive criminal background check and drug screen.

·       Ability to work varying schedules including holidays.

·       Have an Android or iOS mobile phone with GPS capabilities and unlimited data.

·       Ability to  drive to and walk dogs in all types of weather, including summer heat and winter/snow.

·       Ability to lift up to 30 lbs (large bags of dog food or pails of cat litter)

·       Previous experience working with animals, especially large dog breeds or dogs that may have behavioral issues and are unsuitable for kennels.

·       Ability to occasionally sleep overnight at a client's home.

·       Ability to work weekends and holidays.

·       Our busiest times of the year are the weeks surrounding holidays, so the ability to work on holidays is highly preferred.
